f my backyard. Neither are the folks in the houses around me. We live in the midst of all the wildlife of the neighborhood, from the birds and the bugs and the dogs and the deer to the plants we tend and the weeds we attempt to root out. And then there are the moles. Life is full of surprises. These poems are written in reaction to some of those beautiful and some of those irritating aspects of my local world. You may not see your part of the world as I see mine, but I hope that the perspectives shown will help you look a little more closely at your fellow neighbors who don’t live in houses but who have similar needs of food, shelter, and relationships.
