Then I had this image of a former society party girl wearing fatigues squaring off with a scarred, battle-hardened soldier and Hell Squad was born. The photography is expressive, and the stories are equal parts soul-crushing and uplifting. Personally, it took away from the author's unique voice. This is a great story of a well-run college football team in a depressed part of the country still struggling to overcome the Depression and Dust Bowl, and how much this team meant to the people of this state. But, like I've said in other reviews, I knew there was more to him, and I was so right.
